Since graduating from Columbia Law School with honors in 1983, Steve has been practicing law at the highest level. Formerly a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher, over the years his practice has included commercial, employment, and environmental litigation in more than 20 states. He has successfully handled insurance, securities, contract, antitrust, and other private party, administrative, and government litigation. Steve has broad regulatory counseling experience assisting companies and their management to minimize risk, identify threats, and recognize opportunities. He has also engaged in significant transactional work where environmental expertise was required, including due diligence, risk allocation, disclosure–including securities law disclosure–and counseling for financial services entities, including lenders, underwriters, offers of equities and debt instruments, as well as real estate and manufacturing companies.
Steve currently represents clients in state, federal, and administrative litigation. His approach combines expertise, creativity, and results.
Steve earned a B.A. summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany and then attended Columbia Law School, where he was Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. He co-wrote The Impact of Environmental Law on Real Estate Transactions and has been a speaker on a variety of subjects.
